LinkedIn’s Changes (And Why You Should Spend Time on the Platform)

You may have noticed in the last few weeks two MAJOR changes that LinkedIn has made:
1) Posts now go public.
2) Users can natively upload video.
It may have only been a matter of time, but these updates continue to make this ‘business first’ platform one that is also quite the content-sharing application.
Your posts – no matter what they are – can now be shared, viewable by users (both logged in and not logged in) as well as being indexed and searchable by Google. Many users think that this will turn LinkedIn into ‘just’ another social network, but the reality is that individuals are creating content, sharing, and engaging more than ever before. The platform has broadened it’s reach, which allows you to broaden your own reach! You’ll be able to connect with like-minded professionals unlike anything you’ve seen previously.
Let’s face it…this availability of posts to go public (and with the option of native video), is the direction that seemingly ALL social platforms have been heading for some time now. Sharing content – and the content marketing that accompanies it – is allowing users to have the ability to generate strong connections, leads, and partnerships on larger scale but without spending a ton on ads.
We encourage you to join LinkedIn if you have not already – be active on the platform, share your thoughts and updates on business and your professional field, and expand your network. You’ll be able to take those online relationships and growth and turn it into real life business relationships and conversion!
