Business Page Templates Set to Change on Facebook

Businesses that have a Facebook page, pay attention! (And yes, if you have a business – no matter large or small – you should have a Facebook page).

Changes to the Facebook business pages will be implemented on (or around) August 24, 2018. These changes come as Facebook is working to make its user experience more personal and less business-oriented, an interesting initiative for a company built on socialization and person-to-person contact. In any event, for those individuals who want to interact with local businesses on a deeper level, Facebook is instituting these changes to all business page layouts that may be – and should be – attractive to platform users which will help small business.

What should business owners know and do? The layout of their business page will automatically change in a few days, unless you decide to be proactive and change it now on your own. From what we gather, there will be multiple layouts to choose from that best serve your business and client base. If you don’t select a template then Facebook will do so for you, picking the one it thinks best works for you and your product or service. Facebook’s goal is to help visitors to your page access more quickly the pertinent information they need like company background, hours, and ways to contact and/or provide feedback. Especially on mobile devices, Facebook is looking to make this pertinent data and information more accessible, front-and-center on the business page template.

Quite simply, Facebook is placing emphasis on how much reach a Business Page and its organic posts will receive. The reality is, this template change is one of the most exciting and intriguing updates we’ve seen to Facebook in the last few year and it allows for businesses to better capture the attention of users as they scroll through their Feeds. This will provide for more user friendly navigation on thw page, and will allow local businesses to engage on a much more personal level with consumers, potentially (and hopefully) driving more revenue. Businesses will have additional means to showcase who they are, tell their story, communicate, and connect with customers of past, present, and future!
